Praying...
...for all Cheltenham Schools
School Prayer groups
In May 2000 there were only 12 school prayer groups. Now over half Cheltenham’s schools and University have groups praying for them. The size of groups varies from 3 – 20. Some are led by parents, others by teachers or governors. Some groups share prayer needs by email. Prayer group leaders represent most branches of the church including Anglican, Catholic, Baptist and independent churches. All groups meet with the full support of their school’s head teacher. The importance of confidentiality is always stressed, only praying for people by name if they have requested prayer or it is a matter in the public domain, otherwise praying for ‘a pupil in Yr 2’ or ‘a member of staff’. CPFSN encourages groups to pray for God’s blessing and protection over all aspects of school life.
Home intercessors pray at home for
every school, prayer group contact by
name and Open the Book assembly.
They receive a regular letter updating
them on answers to prayer and CPFSN
prayer points. CPFSN is also supported
by the daily prayers of the Cheltenham
Prayer Wall.
